Free Signaller multi-tasking test practice
This is the exercise applicants talk about most, and the one that catches people out. Three tasks run at the same time on one screen: simple mental arithmetic, a stream of shapes you watch for a repeat, and an object you steer past obstacles. None of the three is hard on its own. The difficulty is that they do not take turns — you have to keep all three going, notice when one is about to go wrong, and accept dropping a little accuracy on one to save another. That is most likely what the exercise is reading, and it is trainable. Our version runs the same three tasks together and scores each one separately, so you can see which one you are sacrificing under load.

Three tasks, all at once
For 45 seconds you will run all three of these together. They do not take turns and they do not wait for you.
- Steer. Keep the dot in the gap as the bars come down. Use the left and right arrow keys, or drag your finger across the lane.
- Answer the sum. Tap the right answer, or press 1 to 4. A sum you leave too long counts against you.
- Call the repeat. Watch the shape. The moment it is the same as the one before it, hit Repeat — or press the space bar. Calling one that is not a repeat counts against you too.
You are not expected to be perfect at all three. Almost nobody is. What matters is not letting any one of them go completely when you run out of attention — so at the end we score the three separately.
